The world celebrated the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day this week. If you felt like you missed it, then you are not alone. A lot of us are feeling like the world has paused. But we at Zuendt Engineering want to remind you that many great things are happening.
Including Earth Day, which believe it or not is an important part of engineering history.
Think back to 1969. There as no EPA. There were almost no federal laws on pollution. Things were left up to states to decide. Earth Day sparked a change that codified a lot of things and add in a lot of measures that drive the civil engineering industry to this day.
As a firm that specializes in the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including public works such as roads, bridges, canals, dams, airports, sewerage systems, pipelines, structural components of buildings, and railways, Earth Day is definitely a day to celebrate.
